Description
The Gamakatsu SP113L3H fly hooks are designed with the highest quality carbon steel for superb sharpness to withstand the rigors of saltwater angling. Tin plated and corrosion resistant. However, it has plenty of use as a freshwater fly. It can be used on the large articulated streamers or a mouse pattern (see below). Kelly Galloup uses the Gamakatsu SP113L3H on a number of his streamers such as the Triple Dungeon and the Pearl Necklace. Try it on Tommy Lynch’s Drunk and Disorderly streamer.
The methods used in creating Gamakatsu fishing hooks is what makes it so superior to all other brands. First, only the most premium grade of high carbon steel is used.
This insures against any blemishes in the metal which can weaken the hook.
Secondly, Gamakatsu has the most advanced tempering system in the world. Every hook is heated to the exact temperature that is perfect for that particular style and size then cooled in oil. This process produces hooks which are super strong, but not brittle. It is extremely difficult to achieve a balance between strength and flexibility, and it took many years for Gamakatsu to perfect this process.
Finally, the sharpening process is the most modern in the world resulting in a perfectly conical point.
Sizes 1,2, & 4 have 12 hooks per package. Sizes 6 and 8 have 15 hooks per package. Perfect Bend, Straight eye, 3X Long, 3X Heavy, wide gape, Tin Plated
