Description
Danville Monofilament .006 from Hareline is used as ribbing or within patterns needing transparency. Thin and clear so that material colors underneath show through. The monofilament can be colored by a marker. This special nylon monofilament thread is also great for any translucent fly pattern such as Mysis Shrimp or for ribbing scud patterns. Seems to disappear under head cement or epoxy. Use zap a gap to “weld” the wraps.
This thread is slick and strong and very, very clear. It has many applications, but it is mostly used in tying saltwater flies. Danville Monofilament .006 works especially well when you want each layer of the fly to show. Many saltwater organisms are translucent or semi transparent. Mono thread also is great for tying fresh water bait fish patterns.
