Tying Instructions
1. Secure the ribbing along the top of the shank to the midpoint of the bend.
2. Dub a slender body to the 1/3 position on the shank.
3. Wrap the ribbing up to the 1/3 position and secure with thread wraps.
4. Attach a hackle to the 1/3 position. The tip of the hackle should only extend just beyond the hook bend, the butt of the hackle will be over the eye.
5. Bring the butt of the hackle upwards and with thread wraps create a wingpost with thread wraps around the base of the hackle.
6. Attach a parachute hackle to the wingpost. Lock the butt to the shank in front of the wingpost and give a few thread wraps around the wingpost locking the hackle to it.
7. Dub the thorax. This will also cover the wingpost tie-in and the parachute hackle tie-in.
8. Wrap a parachute hackle and secure in front of the wingpost locking the hackle tag just behind the eye. Create a thread head behind the eye, whip finish, and trim the wingpost butts. An application of head cement on the wingpost will help secure the parachute.

Partridge Caddis Emerger
This is a generic emerger pattern designed by Hans Weilenmann of Netherlands. The pattern uses the same feather or hackle for both the downwing and the wingpost. The parachute hackle supports the fly within the surface film while the rest of the abdomen lies vertically downward. The pattern works best on slow moving waters.
