1/8″ Crosscut Rabbit Strips

The 1/8″ Crosscut Rabbit Strip are for winding the hide around a hook shank  for a wide variety of fresh and saltwater flies. The hair flairs off the hide at an angle and will lay to the rear of the hook, creating a somewhat more streamlined form. Rabbit hide strips are also known as Zonker Strips. The Bunny Stripper is a good example of how the crosscut strip acts as a collar to the pattern.

There are two types of strips, those cut length-wise and those cut across the skin. The length-wise strips are usually attached along the length of the hook shank. The 1/8″ Crosscut Rabbit Strip is wrapped around the hook shank, which can be really good for collars. They are great for streamer patterns as the fur will collect water and sink.  Hareline has two sizes: 1/8″ wide – (4) 10″ strips per package, 1/4″ wide – (3) 10″ strips per package.
