The Griffin Rotating Whip Finisher is a Thompson style that has a spring action that makes whip finishing a cinch. Comes with instructions and is available in both rotating and non rotating models. The Thompson style has a spring component that Herbert Thompson designed in 1909. It was the primary whip finishing tool until Frank Matarelli created a different design without the spring component in 1974.  Today, both styles continue to be available and preference is a personal issue.

The Griffin Rotating Whip Finisher is a no-nonsense fly tying whip finish tool. It features a tension spring that allows for a smooth release of thread when finishing off your flies. Slim, lightweight, and made of stainless steel, the Griffin whip finisher is a great tool to have at every fly tying bench.  4″ in length.
