South Fork Kern 7

Description

South Fork Kern 7 covers the South Fork Kern River of Ramshaw Meadow to Mulkey Creek. Shows camping areas, trails, and creeks. Special Features are the Hatch Chart,  Fish Identification, Fishing Season and Regulations, and Stream Etiquette guidelines.

The South Fork Kern 7 contains Golden Hybrids and some Browns. Barriers have been constructed to keep the Browns downstream but they always find a way to migrate upstream. The Goldens are hybridized from resident rainbows which were planted downstream over the last 70 years. The only pure Goldens are those found in Golden Trout Creek and Volcano Creek. However, within this section the purity of Goldens is over 90 percent. Best fished in the Spring and early Summer when flows are good and temps are favorable.
