Description
West Fork Carson covers the river from Hope Valley through the West Carson Canyon. Outside the canyon, the West Fork Carson enters grazing lands and follows Hwy 88 to the Nevada border. Topographic relief showing features surrounding the river. Shows camping areas, GPS Long./Lat., road access, trails, and property boundaries. Special Features are the Hatch Chart, Fishing Season and Regulations, Fish Identification, Historical Flow Chart, Nymphing Rigs, and Stream Etiquette guidelines.
Fishing the WF Carson in Hope Valley is a dry fly flingers dream. The resident fish are wild Browns and Rainbows in the 8-12 inch class. There are some larger Browns within the undercuts and Lahontan Cutthroats have been introduced. The WF Carson then enters a canyon that extends for 9 miles to Alpine Village. This section also has wild Rainbows and Browns, 8-12 inches.
