REC guides are made of a Nickel Titanium alloy. They are extremely hard but also flexible, and will recoil back into shape when impacted. The material will not corrode nor rust. With the lack of metal fatigue, these guides will last indefinitely. The guides are also lighter since they do not require additional plating, thus they contribute less mass to the rod. The RSN guides come in either a standard wire or heavy wire in sizes 1-6, 1/0, and 2/0. The RSF guides come in sizes 1-6. The RSG guides come in sizes 6 to 25 . The RTT tip tops can cbe a standard loop or a large loop in sizes 4 to 6. |
Snake Brand Guides are constructed of high quality stainless steel, and feature the same exceptional quality that has made Snake Brand, Inc. the market leader in the development of light wire snake guides. The feet are consistent in length; they have tapered ends, and fit the contour of a round fly rod blank. This equals less time spent grinding, filing, twisting, bending, and wrapping. To fly rod manufacturers, the importance of labor savings, quality, and performance cannot be overstated, and Snake Brand’s new Universal Guide is the answer. |
Fuji manufactures high quality running guides that are considered by some as the best on the market. For fly rods, the L Frames remain the most popular. They are designed with a single leg and single foot to give a strong and very light weight to the rod. The low profile keeps the fly line close to the rod. The Alconite guides (LAG, BLAG) provide a rare combination of strength, lightness, and durability. The LAG frame is polished Stainless Steel and the BLAG frame is Black Stainless. The Silicon Carbide guides (TSLG, ICLSG, LSG) use a polished SiC ring mounted directly to the frame, which reduces weight, increased heat dissipation and amplifies line sensitivity. TSLG frame is made of Titanium, the ICLSG frame is Titanium plated, and the LSG frame is a Gunsmoke Stainless steel. The Concept O guides (LOG, BLOG) are produced from a special blend of high-grade aluminum oxide. LOG frame is a polished Stainless Steel and the BLOG frame is a Black Stainless Steel. The ring is permanently mounted to the frame, which results in lighter weight, greater heat dissipation and decreased line wear. All of the guides are available in sizes 3.5mm to 10mm. |
Pacific Bay is one of the most popular sources for fly rod guides. They carry a wide range of guides found through many sources. The model F series is a single foot guide designed for medium to heavy action rods. The model SF is a hard wire single foot guide designed for lightweight applications. The N model is a light wire frame guide with a low profile, particularly useful as strippers on Bamboo rods. The SN is their standard snake guide, of which they also carry a lightweight model (SNL) and a hard wire model (SNG). Each of these models come in a number of finishes and materials. Most popular are the platings in Super Hard Chrome and Titanium Chrome. |
